As I sit here sweating monkeys in the Barcelona Airport, I find myself reflecting on the styles of summer. At best, they continued on the easy breezy, less-is-more track laid out for us last century by villa-dwelling Euro women with lavender in their hair (these women totally existed). At worst, they were tragically subverted by complicated eyewear and the highly infectious matchy-matchy disease. You know the one.
And just as it was at festivals ten years ago and at summer camp in the nineties and on Spanish subways today, I suspect letting a little cheek hang from your denim short shorts will always be in. (Just make sure it’s a good bit, ok?)
TRENDS I LOVED: White on white, birkenstocks, well-worn men’s hats, red lips, red shoes.
